Camping In Ontario Campground Reservation Service
Terms of Use
By using the Camping In Ontario Reservation Service,
you are agreeing to the following Policy/Terms of Use. Please read them carefully.
General Terms of Use
- Availability of the Reservation Service: The Camping In Ontario Reservation Service is available to all campers by telephone at 1-866-211-6841 , or online 24 hours a day at www.campontario.ca. Following are the hours of Operation for the telephone service:
Till April 1: 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time
April 2 to October 13: 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time
October 14 to the 2009 season launch: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time Monday to Friday
Times: All times quoted in this Policy/Terms of Use are Eastern Standard Time.
- Reservations are based on availability.
- Campers making reservations must be 25 years of age or over, unless otherwise specified by the individual campground. If a camper under 25 years of age makes a reservation it will not be honored when they arrive at the campground, and all fees paid will be forfeited.
- There is a non-refundable fee of $12.00 for each reservation made, which is payable at the time your reservation is confirmed. Campers may make more than one reservation during one call or session however the $12.00 reservation fee is applicable for each confirmed reservation.
- Check-in and check-out times vary by individual campground. Please check individual campgrounds for their specific arrival and departure times. Campers must inform the campground of late arrivals, as reservations cannot be guaranteed after 6:00 pm. on the intended date of arrival.
- Unless otherwise stated in individual campground policies or site description, no more than six people (a single-family group of parents and children under 18) can occupy a campsite.
- All Camping In Ontario campgrounds are independently owned and operated and you should read their rules, regulations and policies prior to completing your reservation.

Camping In Ontario Guarantee
- All Camping In Ontario members adhere to the following guarantee “I guarantee that my campground is in good repair, clean and tidy. Also, that the facilities and description listed in the Camping in Ontario directory and website are true and not misleading. If you find this not to be so, I will refund your money in full provided it is within one hour of check-in time.”
Fees
- Reservation Fees: The cost to make a reservation is $12.00. The reservation fee is separate from camping fees. The reservation fee is non-refundable and covers the operating cost of the Camping In Ontario Reservation System. This fee is charged per call/online transaction. Reservation fees are due when you make your reservation.
- Camping fees: Fees paid at the time of reservation are for the campsite or cottage only and do not include charges for visitor entry into the campground. Guests visiting your campsite may be required to pay a Visitor Entry Fee. The fee for one vehicle is included in your campsite or cottage reservation. A fee may apply for any additional vehicles, please consult the individual campground for their specific rules and fees.
- Changes: Fees are also charged if you change a previously confirmed reservation. The fee for each change is $9.00 and is non-refundable. These fees are payable when you make a change to a confirmed reservation.
- Cancellations: Cancellations made 30 days prior to the check-in time of the camper’s scheduled date of arrival will result in a full refund of all fees less a $25.00 cancellation penalty. Cancellations made within 30 days of the check-in time of the camper’s scheduled date of arrival will result in the loss of one night’s fee and will be subject to a $9.00 cancellation fee. Cancellation policies for cottage rentals may differ slightly please check with your individual campground for complete details.
- Please check individual campgrounds for their specific cancellation penalties.
Method of Payment
- Reservations can be paid by Visa or MasterCard only.
Confirmation
- Confirmation number: A confirmation number will be provided at the end of every completed reservation. If you do not receive a confirmation number, your reservation is not complete.
- It is important that you take note of this confirmation number and bring it with you to the campground. Your confirmation number must be provided to the campground staff for registration purposes.
- For reservations made by telephone, you have the option of providing an email address to receive an electronic confirmation, and/or you may want to write down the confirmation number when you receive it verbally from the Customer Service Associate.
- For reservations made on-line, you should enter your email address to receive an electronic copy of your confirmation. You can also print out the confirmation screen and/or write down the confirmation number.
Changes before check-in
- Changes before check-in: You can change your reservation prior to your arrival. Changes may include changes in date, campsite type, service type, etc. Changes can be made on-line or by telephone. You will be charged a fee of $9.00 to make a change. Changes to the arrival date must be made by 6:00 p.m. on the day prior to your arrival.
Changes after check-in
- Changes after check-in: We will do our best to accommodate any changes you request to your campsite once you are registered. It is important to note that changes cannot be guaranteed and can only be accommodated if a suitable campsite is available. If a change is requested, there may be a difference in the new camping fee charged based on the services provided at the new campsite. The $9.00 change fee will not apply.
- Shortening your stay: We recognize that plans change. Please check individual campground policies regarding shortening your stay.
Late Arrivals and No Shows
- If you are unable to reach your destination by 6:00 p.m. on the day of your scheduled arrival but you still wish to retain your reservation, you must contact the campground office. If you do not know the telephone number for the campground, please call 1-866-211-6841. Camping fees will be payable on all nights reserved prior to the camper’s arrival at the campground.
- Campers who have not arrived at the campground by 8:00 am on the day following their scheduled arrival and who have not contacted the campground to inform them of their late arrival will be deemed a no-show. At that time, the camper must request a refund and will be charged the first two nights camping fees and 50% of the remainder of their reservation (i.e. a 7 night reservation will result in the first two nights being charged, plus 50% of the remaining 5 nights) and their campsite will be made available to other campers.
- Long weekends: Cancellations of long weekend reservations will result
in the loss of the full booking and a charge of the $9.00 cancellation fee. Long weekends are
considered to be Easter (April), Victoria Day (May), Canada Day (July), August Civic (August),
Labour Day (September) and Canadian Thanksgiving (October)
